Dr Christine Musyimi received 2023, VISTA award from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) for her outstanding scientific contributions in addressing the most pressing global mental health challenges.
Dr Christine’s research focuses on promoting excellence in community-based mental health research and developing innovative strategies, with special attention to the health of older persons, women and individuals with severe mental illness.
Additionally, she has contributed to the development of a dementia anti-stigma toolkit for use in low-and middle-income countries through her work on dementia-related stigma research in Kenya.
Dr. Christine is a researcher and Research Ethics & Scientific Publications Officer at AFRIMEB.
(AFRIMEB) is a public benefit organization, based in Kenya dedicated to research in mental and neurological health and, substance use to generate evidence for policy and best practice in the provision of affordable, appropriate, available and accessible mental health services.
